"NEW" GARDENING TIP OF THE MONTH
Spring is coming! Spring is coming! Time to round up all your garden tools to clean, sharpen, and oil them. Take a few minutes to spray paint the handles with a bright colored paint so you can easily find them when you begin working in your garden. Now is also a great time to get your mower, weed eater, and tiller cleaned, blades sharpened, and engines serviced so they will be ready to go to work when you are. Now is the time to begin starting your seeds indoors. The majority of annual and vegetable seeds need to be started approximately six to seven weeks prior to the last frost date in your area. Check your seed packets for more detailed information. Watch the weather and begin removing dead debris from your garden. Add three inches of compost or mulch around your shrubs and perennials. Add four inches of compost to your vegetable garden and till in as soon as the soil is dry enough. Now you will be ready for the planting to begin!
